here's my gripe…

>they were GREEEAAAT!

>so, i was lying in bed and i started thinking about something to blog on. something more light-hearted than the last thing i posted. because, you know, i can’t let that just sit out there as the last thing i posted or people might think i’m a serious blogger, or something.

anyway, so i was lying in bed trying to think of something when i suddenly started thinking about cereal. don’t ask me why, it’s my brain, but even i don’t know how it works sometimes.

now, you all know my love for cinnamon toast crunch, though i couldn’t prove it anymore because, well, you know. but before that, there was another cereal that had my heart. kellogg’s cocoa frosted flakes.

oh. my. god. was that cereal good. i couldn’t get enough of it’s awesomely-awesomeness–and can i just put an aside here that 1) i know i just made up that word/phrase and, 2) i didn’t actually say it out loud, but even thinking it in my head i had a real problem pronouncing it. and spelling it. ok, that was it.–and bought it all the time. then suddenly, poof!, it was gone from the shelves. this was 10 years ago and i am still sad that i can’t find it.

i just looked online to see if i could find a photo, and i can’t even do that. well, except for the one on ebay, but it wouldn’t let me put it in my blog. other than that, i can find out nothing about it. no stories as to why it was pulled from shelves. i mean, what? did it contain something that would turn you green and sprout three heads? because i’m not sure that would have been a big enough deterrent for me to stop eating them.

and i just can’t believe that they weren’t popular. come on! just look at the name:

cocoa=chocolate
frosted=sugar
flakes=? well, i don’t know what they equal, but that’s not the point!

the point is, what happened to cocoa frosted flakes? were they just so freakingly good that they had to take them off the market? could i really have been the only one that loved them? and why is no one talking about it? if a cereal had to be removed from shelves, why couldn’t it have been this monstrosity?
