here's my gripe…

>kerry’s near/mid/far

>first of all, i’m really glad to have a reason to take photos again. 🙂

so, on to my entry. to be honest, i probably didn’t really put a lot of thought into this assignment. i’d originally thought that i would go out this weekend and do some shooting, but then i thought last night, “why not just shoot something i have handy here?” then it was just a matter of finding something to take photos of.

here’s what i came up with. i thought i’d start with my least favourite first, just to build the suspense. 😉

pdx - near/mid/far

it’s not a terrible picture, i don’t think, but you can barely see the bottle in the background, so kind of misses the point of the exercise. plus, i think there’s just way too much of the front bottle.

pdx - near/mid/far

this one is better, but i think in this case, the front bottle is too centered. after seeing some other people’s photos for this assignment, i was very conscious of cutting the photo in half.

pdx - near/mid/far

here is the photo i finally decided to go with. i like how the front and back bottles are a little out of focus and how the middle bottle is nice and sharp. i did end up cropping a tiny bit on the top and left sides because i caught some of the wall in the shot, which i thought took away from it.
